Comtrend’s CT-2000 is a flexible multi-service platform, for voice and data applications using time division multiplexing technology. Featuring powerful timeslot interchange (TSI) capability, the CT-2000 can work as a: flexible STM-1/T1/E1 multiplexer, 1/0 digital cross-connect system, rack-mounted CSU/DSU, or T1/E1 converter. The CT-2000 utilizes common interface modules to perform a wide-range of applications, so it can reduce space requirements and inventory costs.

With its high-density interface units, the CT-2000 is excellent for carrier-class deployment. For STM-1 SDH multiplexer application, up to 63 E1 lines can be cross-connected to the STM-1 interface, with direct access to the SDH backbone. For T1/E1 flexible multiplexer application, up to 64 T1/E1 lines can be supported. The versatile tributary interface units provide multiple data and voice services on the same shelf. The interface unit is equipped with remote control capability on CPE devices to achieve full network management.

For 1/0 DACS application, up to 208 T1/E1 lines can be supported with 64Kbps cross-connecting capability. It may also be used to provide 104 T1/E1 conversion pairs with signaling and coding-law conversion capability.

Two types of shelves are available for different scales of deployment. The standard CT2000-S shelf is equipped with 14 slots and accommodates up to 13 channel interface units. The compact CT-2020-S shelf has 5 slots and supports up to 4 interface units in a 4-U height
